The best I've played with!
by RAE @ 10, Nov 2006

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 5/5

My sis-inlaw got my brother this exact case for his b-day about 2 yrs ago and we've been playing all our home games with them ever since. She said she paid about $40 for 500 at Costco. Last I heard, they were going for about $280 now. They're easy to shuffle and I find that they're easier to stack higher as opposed to some of the more expensive chips out there. Some of my friends have been trying to get their own cases but haven't had any luck finding them. I'll refer them to the links above. Thanks!

Great Chip - Low Cost
by Maxwell Murphy @ 03, Nov 2006

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality:N/A

Based somewhat on what I read here as well as other sources I decided to order up a set of these and give them a spin. The weight to them is definitely nice, the clank of them slapping together is pretty good, the feel is also nice. One thing to note about this particular review is I have never handled any of the $1/chip brands. I have some samples of those coming so we'll have to see how I feel they compare at that point. Right now everyone that plays with these really likes them and a number of people have asked where they could get a set. I admit they look somewhat plain...we'll see which look I actually prefer when I have others side-by-side. Right now the plain serves well for our purposes to be able to set different values at different matches. www.pokershopping.com was the best price I found on them about two weeks ago when I ordered.

13.5 Gram Double Suited Chips
by Chris @ 17, Apr 2006

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

Just bought my second set of 500 13.5 gram Double Suited Chips. Bought them through Pokershopping.com They gave 10% discount for shopping there + I used the "21acepromo" in the promo section. Total cost was 61.33. That averaged to 12.2 cents per chip. These are excellent chips. The weight is great. The shuffle nicely and I have nothing negitive to say about them.

Good chips but don't deal w/ Ultimate Poker Deals
by Big Slick @ 27, Jul 2005

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 4/5

Good chips. I like the feel and the game play. Most of my frinds like the chips too. Not too expensive and I think they are clay. Before you buy shop around. My experience with Ultimatepokerdeals.com was not very good. Gave me the runaround and customer service was nonexistent. Emailed me back but took a while. Nobody there at the phone number. My friends bought from vegaspokerchips.com and they liked their experience. Shop around.

Bought a 500 set & aluminum case for only $60
by pmb1515 @ 23, Jul 2005

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

Bought these chips from a catalog at only $60. Best chip per dollar I've ever seen. Great to do tricks with.

Decent
by Pokerstars @ 22, May 2005

Price: 3/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 3/5

Decent chips. Not too bad. I think the 13g pure clay ones from Pokerbargains or 5star are better. But it's about 30% cheaper than the 13g pure clay so for the value it's worth it. The 13.5g ones here seem to still make the metal sound.

Quality composites
by Marpenothi @ 19, May 2005

Price: 4/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 4/5

These are 13.5g composite chips. If you are looking for an affordable, heavy, and durable chip, these are for you. They are composite, so they will make that clanking noise when you splash the pot, but you don't have to worry about them breaking. Once you receive these chips, you might want to dust them off or wipe them down. They are thick chips, and may be very difficult to shuffle. Make sure you wipe them down and clean them off before use. Overall, a quality chip!

dust'em off
by danish.dk @ 15, May 2005

Price: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

Bourght a 500 chipset + alu. case. Very nice price for the 11kg. you get through mail. The double suit is definately the best - simple but interesting - a good weight and feel in these chips excellent doing chip-tricks with. Originally I would have bourght the new 12g. NEXGEN design with metal in the ABS composit. I ordered a few NEXGEN chips and the 11kg. clay chips + case. because of the metal in the NEXGEN chips the are very slippery, and irritating doing tricks with...all in all the best chip I've ever bourght. When I got the chips a few of them had a scratch and the colour was not optimal...but this was only 3-4 of them. A good all-round experince. (wonderfull sound!!!) V

Very good value
by Scifos @ 30, Mar 2005

Price: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 5/5

Just recently got these chips. They are very heavy and feel great. My friend has a cheap set and these ones blow them away! The sound is terrific and they feel kinda rough, not smooth like plastic. Best chips I've ever owned. Well worth the little extra you pay for the quality. In the set I got, about 3 of the 500 chips came with slight scratches/paint missing though, would be hard to spot unless you really looked at them though.

You're paying too much!
by schmitage @ 27, Feb 2005

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

I just used the 21ace promo (see above) for pokershopping.com. 20% off! I paid 145, shipped, for a 1000 pc set. EBAY: cheapest I've found for a 500 set of these: 120-125 w/ shipping. Online retailers: Same going price as well. Running an average of about 24-26c per chip. Pokershopping.com has a 1000 piece set (2x500) w/ 2 dealer buttons, 4 packs of WPT cards, 2 cases, 10 dice, etc for $159. 20% off = $127.20. + ~$18 shipping = $145 shipped. This ends up being 14.5c per chip (nearly 50% off than what you can get off of ebay or other online retailers!). As for the chips, I haven't received them yet. But, a friend has the 13.5g diced set. The look, sound and feel of them are definately better than the 11.5g sets. I liked the double suit design. The design takes you away from a plain chip look but isn't too busy either. Just passing along info on this deal. If you do as I did and go in w/ a friend, you just paid 73 bucks for a nice 500pc set.

how can u tell?
by chip @ 03, Feb 2005

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality:N/A

How can u tell before u buy the chips whether they are genuine clay chips or the fake composite that feels slippery? for instance...what is the expected price of a 500 chip set of 13.5g clay chips +aluminum case...and i'm talking about the genuine clay.

nice heavy chips
by jack @ 31, Dec 2004

Price: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 5/5

these chips are great. they are clay composite giving them a nice ruff feal and not slippery. they also have a great weight, i prefer heavier weighted chips so these are great for me. the weight is very helpful to shuffle. i just bought 500 off of ebay for 110 including shipping. this shows that the price isn't bad either. all in all this is a really great chip.

13.5 Gram Clay Composite Double Suited Poker Chips
by Eric @ 24, Oct 2004

Price: 3/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 5/5

These heavy Double Suited Clay Composite Chips are some of the best chips out there in the market. The price is pretty good at a little bit less than 30 cents per chip. They are not the most inexpensive chips in the world but on the other hand they offer a great deal of increased quality for only a small difference in price. The appearance is good, all 4 suits are represented on the outer rim. Each suit is seen twice in a pattern such that the same suit is always directly across from itself. The quality of these chips is what makes them special. The clay composite and the heavy weight are what separate these chips from many others in the market.

Classic & Inexpensive
by Smith29bubbles @ 14, May 2006

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 3/5

Considering I now own a nice set of ceramics, I still find it hard to put down my classic lookign plastic composites. These things are Cheap cheap cheap and were the easiest way to quickly get a full tournament set back in the day. I looked into 7/8" labels since the innner ring would be slightly covered by bigger labels. But we just learned to live with the cdolors. If you can still find these things cheap, they are great introduction to having chips (vs nickels/dimes/quarters) at your home game.. Fair warning: you will probably be upgrading within a year or two so start saving your winnings!

Awesome Chips
by JBed @ 31, Mar 2005

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

You cant beat these chips for the price. I paid $114 for 600 of them and I got to pick the colors I wanted. The color, feel, and sound of the chips is awesome. The color is not faded like some the other postings have said. The design is great, there are no mistakes in the markings and the spots on the sides are clean. I am very happy with these chips and I would recommend them. I got mine from pokernstuff.com, there service is unmatched and my chips arrived in 3 days on just the normal ground delivery.

Great Chips
by Daniel Chappell @ 18, Nov 2004

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

I got these exact same chips almost three months ago to replace some plastic 9g I had. These chips are really really good. I paid $119 dollars for them and they have not disapointed. They are real heavy and have a great feel to them. Unlike most composite chips they have a clay texture to them, instead of a smooth, plastic one. If your like me you like the sound of the chips hitting the other ones, and these give a great realistic sound. I nice "Clinking" sound. They are great to do tricks with too. Like the other review my only complaint is that the green and red are very dull. The red is almost like a pink and the green like a teal color. Whoever makes these chips needs to think about putting more color in them. Great chips though a great buy for somebody putting together a home game.

Great Chips!!!
by bigdaddy @ 26, Oct 2004

Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

I got 500 of these chips a week ago for 119.99. The price is excellent for this quality chip. They have that soft, sandy feel to them like real clay chips have. The design is plain. However with a label it really made them look professional. I really enjoy the weight. It makes them feel real solid and not so flimsy. The only downfall is the color of the chips. The red and green ones are a bit dull. Probably due to the clay composition. I wish they were brightened up a little more.

13.5 Gram Clay Composite Stripe Suited Poker Chips
by Eric @ 22, Oct 2004

Price: 3/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 5/5

The price on these is fine. They are not the cheapest chip on the market but you get what you pay for. The appearance is good, the design incorporates all 4 suites along with some stripes. The thing that sets these chips apart is the quality, specifically the weight and texture. These 13.5 Gram Clay Composite Stripe Suited Poker Chips have a great feel to them. I prefer heavy trips when doing poker chip tricks and the weight on these is nice. Another reason these chips have a nice feel is because they are clay composite instead of plain composite. This means the surface of the chip feels like clay, not like smooth plastic.
